Designed by a professional portrait artist, Best's Manhattan Easel is extremely versatile and adaptable to needs. Its top carriage features a self braking clutch that tilts forwards or backwards, and adjusts vertically. Manhattan is distinguished for its solid H-frame construction, and its beautiful, durable, hand-rubbed oil finished. Built by hand from solid red oak, it is a piece of fine furniture. The base is mounted on locking rubber casters for mobility, and has a footprint 30" deep and 30" wide, expanding to 60" in width when the tray is fully extended. Manhattan is big enough, and solid enough, to handle very large canvases. Perhaps its most deluxe feature is the double fold-out paint-mixing tray, up to 60" wide when fully opened. This tray has an easy-to-clean Melamine® surface, with wells on either side to hold two large stainless steel canisters for mixing solvents. The Manhattan Easel supports canvases up to 88" with the painting tray in use. Remove the tray, and the maximum canvas height can be extended to 102". Its minimum height is 75", but it extends to 118" tall when the adjustable sliding mast is fully extended. Move it easily around the studio on its four locking casters. The Manhattan Easel ships partially assembled in a heavy-duty shipping carton. Light assembly is required. (A videotape with directions for final assembly is included.) Shipping weight is 85 lbs. |
