Fletcher's MatMate Systems are designed to produce professional-looking single or multiple mats. They have everything the professional needs, yet they are simple enough for the novice to use. The hand-held cutter head produces straight 90° or 45° bevel cuts. It can be pushed or pulled with the right or left hand. Blade depth is adjustable, and the blade rotates and retracts to start and stop the cut accurately. The laminated masonite cutting base has a clamp to hold the mat in place, and a mat guide (not a squaring arm) for borders up to 6" (15 cm) thick. MatMate systems also come with a riser attachment, which converts the cutter from bevel to straight cutting, and three locator pins for quick setting of matboard increments. Each system includes complete instructions and five replacement blades. Flethcer's width adjustment mechanism uses three locator pins for quick setting of matboard increments. Adjustments to width are fast and precise. MatMate 32 System — The cutting base is 32" (81 cm) long, for cutting edges and mat openings up to 32". MatMate 40 System — Extend your creativity even further with Fletcher's deluxe MatMate 40. It offers a longer base to cut mat openings up to 40" (102 cm). It also includes the Fletcher MatMate Template for marking mat borders, cutting circles, and measuring stops for more accurate cutting of mat openings.
