Mayco Glazing System

This ingenious system allows less expensive or low-fire clays to mimic high-priced, high-fire clays. Pottery Coat — Start with Pottery Coat to make earthenware bisque simulate stoneware or terra cotta. For best results, use Pottery Coat as a base and the others as an overglaze. Element Glaze — Mayco's non-toxic Elements Glazes are easy to use, and offer gloss to matte surfaces and subtle variations in each color. They create fascinating effects when combined with Stroke and Coats, Cascades, Element Chunkies, or Crystalites. Apply three coats to shelf cone 04 bisque and fire to shelf cone 06. Element Chunkies — New Element Chunkies combine Mayco's popular Elements Glazes with crystals that open and spread during firing for one-of-a-kind bursts of color . Pottery Cascade — Finish off your pieces with Pottery Cascade, which intermingles with the other glazes to produce a flowing cascade of colors. It allows the color of the base glaze to show through from underneath.
