Invented over 250 years ago, Conté Crayons are hard pastels that are smooth and rich in pigment. Sticks are 2 1/2" long × 1/4" square (63 mm × 6 mm). Each box contains 2 or 12 crayons of one color, except for the color sets. Assorted Set — The assorted box of 12 crayons includes Black, White, Sanguine, and Bistre. Conté Crayon Color Sets — The highest quality, rich vibrant pigments in a fine kaolin clay base. These crayons are thinner and harder than traditional pastels, and are ideally suited for drawing and sketching.
